spring: march, april, may studios at “knit happens”

(Note: all studios limited to 8 yarn artists. Each studio is a month session 2 hours a week for 4 weeks unless otherwise noted . Call to reserve your seat or for additonal information 847-947-8107

@@@ Special note: If you have a group that would like to have a private “knit in” on a Friday night, call and we can discuss options. You can bring wine and snacks for a two hour session. @@@ A variety of fun projects can be done based on everyones experience level.

K.I.D.S (Knit Individually Designed Strips)
One Philanthropic Friday night a month we come together with our personal stash yarns and learn a new stitch. A 6” x 24” piece will be donated to “knit happens” and volunteeers will assemble these strips into afghans for (kids) at “WINGS” $10.00 fee

Beginner Knitting: $75

The first time knitter will begin to learn to master the long tail cast on, knit stitch, purl stitch, correcting mistakes, weaving in ends and binding off. You will learn to develop consistant stitches and a comfort level before moving on to a wonderful world of knitting with other techniques and fibers.
The knitted strips that we make will be donated to knit happens to produce a child’s ahfgan that will be offered to “WINGS” in the name of our beginners.

Advanced Beginner Knitting, Build your Skills – Sampler Scarf / Felted Bag: $75

You have learned to knit and purl, and you are wondering “where do I go from here?” Well, the next step will be to begin to read patterns. Learn to combine Knit and Purl stitches in a custom designed fashion scarf that will be for warmth as well as fashion, or a Felted Bag that would be awesome for all your furure project bag!. With the scarf you will learn to combine 6 basic stitches into beautiful and stylish custom pattern. Stop in to the salon to see an example of what you can create. Pattern included in the cost of the class, yarn to be purchased seperately. There are a few patterns available for purchase for felted bags of your choice. The most popular bag you will even learn to cable!

Intermediate Skill Building: $75

You have learned the basics, you are excited and into it. So consider taking this class so you can work on the project of your choosing and an instructor will be here for any direction an support that you will need.
Project ideas are all over the salon, ask for advise if you are not sure.
You will be with others sharing in the camaraderie. Friendship building is another benefit.

Youth Knitting: $75

May Saturday 5,12,18,26 (AM. 10-12)

Susan will be teaching Kids from 8 years and up will learn to knit a scarf with a fun flippy twirl. If boys are interested, we have a simple hat so you look cool.
Limited to 6 in this class

Everybody Crochet: $75
March Wednesday 7,14,21,28 (Evenings 6:30 – 8:30)

don’t think you can’t do it….. yes you can, really! Start with the chain…….then you will begin with a fun cotton twirl scarf for beautiful spring days. Follow with an afghan with three patterns to choose from: baby, granny squares, or adult throw. Pattern included yarn to be purchased prior to class time.
For the Advanced Crocheter, “Hooked Throws” a variety of techniques can be choosen from. Basketweave, Tunisian, Post and Shells, Diamonds and others.
Book and yarn to be purchased for studio.
Bring in something you always wanted to work on but didn’t know how!!
If you are a knitter, but you have run across needing to chain an edge on your knitted garments, you may try your hand on crochet and adding a skill.

Tunisian Afghan: $75

Have you noticed the avitar on facebook? This is an image of our Tunisain “knit happens” afghan. A custom pattern can be created for you with a months notice to get the graphed pattern. Standard patterns also available.

Amigurumi Crochet Animals: $75

Learn the technique to Crochet little animals for your kids and/or your pets.

From Head to Toe

Learn the basics and build confidence, easy carry along projects $75 per session.

Come in and get some! You know you need it! Knit or crochet with materials purchased at “knit happens” hang out chat, knit, drink some coffee or whatever.

Minimum enrollment of three yarn students in order to have a studio class. If there are not enough students to hold the studio a full refund will be given.
All students to pay for studio upon registration to reserve your seat Cancellation made, up to one week prior to studio time, will receive store credit. No cancellations week prior.
